What if a story could leave the book and end up on your plate?
In Flavoured Stories, in a Kidchen partnership with Livros Horizonte, we explore a story in many ways and bring it to the kitchen. The story isn't just read: it can come alive with theatre, music and plastic arts, so that children experience it with their whole body before tasting it.
In this meeting, we delve into "The Giraffe Who Was Afraid of Heights", by Isabel Stilwell and Marta Moser, with illustrations by Hélder Teixeira Peleja. It's a story about courage, self-confidence, and friendship, which opens up space to talk about fears and how we face them.
After exploring the story, children and adults move to the kitchen and transform its elements into themed recipes inspired by the book. There are ingredients to discover, hands-on cooking, and plenty of conversation about what we experienced together.
Because when stories and flavours meet, the experience becomes even more memorable.

You can request a date change up to 7 days before the activity, subject to availability, via WhatsApp (+351 91 376 41 34) or loja@kidchen.pt. Requests made with less than 7 days' notice cannot be accepted.
In case of cancellation by the participant, paid amounts will not be refunded. When the change is requested within the indicated period, the amount paid will be credited for a reschedule, subject to availability. If the new date or activity has a higher current price, the difference will be paid upon rescheduling.
No-shows on the day of the activity do not entitle participants to rescheduling or refunds, regardless of the reason.
Each activity is subject to a minimum and maximum number of participants, defined according to the format and capacity of the session. If the minimum number is not reached, or if Kidchen cancels the activity for another reason, you can choose between a full refund or rescheduling. Registrations close when the maximum capacity is reached.
What is the format of this activity?
As a family (1 adult + 1 child)
Ages: 3 to 6 years.
Is there a Kidchen Passport?
Yes. In each workshop, every child or young participant receives the Kidchen Passport and a stamp for the experience.
Is there a discount for siblings or friends?
Yes. For two or more spots, there is a 10% discount on the total, whether for siblings, with a friend, or for more than one experience. Applied automatically in the cart.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, unless specifically indicated on the activity page. The ingredients and materials needed for the session are included.
What if there are allergies or dietary restrictions?
Please inform us at registration or by email or WhatsApp before the activity. We adapt whenever possible, so that everyone can participate safely.
Can I reschedule?
Yes, up to 7 days before the activity and subject to availability. Absences on the day of the activity do not entitle to rescheduling or refund.
What happens after registration?
You will receive an email with a link to fill in the participant's data and important information, such as allergies. Closer to the date, we will send all practical information for the workshop group: time, address, and what to bring.
We work with small groups and a specialized team so that each participant can truly cook, safely, independently, and with a lot of fun.
